French day

French day

On Friday, July 14th, 2023, there was a "French Day" held in Bratislava for the eleventh time. The occasion is organized to honor the conquest of the Bastille. The fortification of Bastille was conquered by Parisians on July 14th, 1789, and this date is associated with the beginning of the Great French Revolution (1789-1799).
On the occasion of this great French holiday, the French Embassy organized a reception to which members of the Special Operations Forces were also invited. On behalf of the Commander of the 5th Special Forces Regiment (5th SFR), Colonel Peter Žochňák, they handed over to the French Military Attaché of Defense Colonel Jean-Charles Peltier and the Press Attaché of the Embassy of the French Republic in Slovakia Mr. Didier Rogasik (both gentlemen visited the 5th SFR in October 2022) a memorial plaque on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Regiment.
The reception was in the spirit of pleasant music, conversations, and there were some tasty snacks too.
